Noémie Charbonneau Potvin – Translator-editor and founder

  1. I hold an Honours BA with Specialization in English-French Translation from the University of Ottawa. My school days are over since 2012, and I have been working in the field since then.
  2. To me, translation is more than the mere act of transposing content in a different language. It means facilitating communication between audiences that would normally have difficulty interacting (therefore reaching new audiences). It also means promoting new points of views, and cultures (or even showcasing new products at times). Therefore, being a translator requires more than good language skills. It takes a sincere curiosity, a perpetuous desire to know more, and an openness to the world. Those are all skills I possess and use in my work at Accolade Translation Agency.
  3. I deliver translations that speak to the audience. Text they can relate to and understand. A good translation is recognizable… when you don’t realize it was translated. But don’t worry, I love working in the shadow!
